Journaling is a great way to begin tracking moments when you feel insecure. Men in most cultures have been socially conditioned to be strong, tough, and not to wear their emotions on their sleeves. Thus, this has resulted in men being less vulnerable and open about difficulties and challenges they face. I believe this is especially true when you don’t have male role models, mentors, or men who are willing to invest in your life and have challenging conversations.
In my life, there have been many times where I have fallen into the trap of failing to open up and have difficult conversations. Instead, I remained silent and allowed my silence to rage attacks on me. This resulted in developing insecure thoughts and questions regarding whether I was good enough. In those times, I found journaling was a wonderful way to write down my thoughts and feelings openly without the fear of judgement.
