Michael T. Crawford

 

 

 

Michael Crawford is originally from Dallas, TX and is the son of Michael and Leffie Crawford. He attended Dallas Public Schools his entire childhood and graduated from Townview Law Magnet.

He attended Texas A&M University-Commerce, majoring in Political Science. While in undergrad, he was actively involved in several on-campus organizations, including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Christian Students , and Golden Leos, an organization that served as ambassadors to the President of the University.

After graduating from college, Michael worked for a year at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office in the Grand Jury Division.

Michael then received the opportunity to attend the University of Arkansas where he received a dual Law Degree and Master of Public Administration. While in Arkansas, Michael was actively involved in several campus organizations, taught Sunday School at St. James Baptist Church, and worked for the City of Fayetteville, AR in the Community Resources Division.

After graduating from Arkansas, Michael was awarded a Local Government Management Fellowship, which relocated him to Minnesota. Since coming to Minnesota, Michael has worked in both the public and non-profit sectors.

In 2015, Michael graduated from Bethel Seminary with a Master of Ministry Practice. While in Seminary, Michael won First place in the Omark Preaching Competition. Michael is passionate about reading and preaching the Word of God.

Michael currently serves as a Chaplain at the Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities, a position he has held since 2014. Michael also serves as an Adjunct faculty member at Bethel University. He serves on several Boards of Directors including 100 Black Men, his neighborhood association and City House, a non-profit which promotes spiritual listening.

Michael recently launched, Men Overcoming Insecurity, a Facebook page dedicated to providing material and resources for individuals facing insecurity with an emphasize on men.  He is also working on writing projects.   

Michael is married to the love of his life, Latosha, whom he met while they were both students at the University of Arkansas. They have two children, Liviyah and Michael Josiah.
